🔌 Connect to Any App

Give your AI access to your other apps and accounts, knowing your private information is always protected and never exposed.

Obvious now handles sensitive data like API keys, tokens, and credentials with enterprise-grade security. Your AI assistant can request exactly the secrets it needs, store them encrypted, and use them seamlessly in your projects—without you ever having to paste credentials into code or chat.

What's new

Secrets Management introduces secure credential handling that unlocks advanced AI capabilities:

  • Smart secret requests: AI asks for specific credentials with clear instructions on where to find them
  • Enterprise encryption: All secrets encrypted using AWS KMS before storage
  • Automatic injection: Secrets available as environment variables in your sandbox without manual setup
  • Project-scoped security: Secrets tied to specific projects and automatically cleaned up
  • Service-specific guidance: Detailed instructions for retrieving credentials from popular services

How it works

When your AI assistant needs to connect to external services, it will:

  1. Request specific secrets through a secure chat interface with clear labeling
  2. Provide retrieval instructions showing exactly where to find credentials in each service
  3. Encrypt and store your secrets using AWS KMS encryption
  4. Inject automatically into the sandbox environment as process.env.SECRET_NAME
  5. Clean up securely when projects are deleted or credentials expire

You'll see intuitive input cards in chat that collect credentials securely, with no copy-pasting into code or unsecured text fields.

Why it matters

This unlocks a new class of AI workflows that were previously impossible or risky:

  • API integrations: Connect to Stripe, GitHub, Google, Slack, and hundreds of other services
  • Data pipeline automation: Pull from external databases and APIs with proper authentication
  • Advanced analysis: Combine internal data with external sources like market data or social APIs
  • Workflow automation: Build end-to-end processes that span multiple authenticated services
  • Enterprise compliance: Meet security requirements for handling sensitive credentials

No more choosing between powerful AI capabilities and security best practices.
